Tv cameras, big screens, lots of people....very big stage and finally no problems with space .)

Back from Spain

Trip to Lloret de Mar, Spain ( 22.September - 07.October)

To the 9th yearly international stage arts festival - Buen Viaje 2008.

We - small group from Estonia, brought back second prize medal.

It was echoed in numerous news papers and journals in Estonia. For example - "Just", "Referend", "Den' za dnjom", "Lasnamäe leht" etc.

Also on channel 2 news - "Reporter" and a longer interview with our manager on channel STS.

Currently preparing for the trip to Spain, preparing a new fire dance specially for the competition.....

5. September
A bigger performance on the end of summer celebration in Mustla. Same people who invited me for the same event last yearl, then my fire show was a warm up for Dj Sash(Germany), this time it was the surprise of the evening and also a warm up for DJ Puffendorff (Germany).
Big stage, lots of cameras, projections on the big screen...everything was great and my two assistants did a little solo and a little duet for me as well! Everything went great.

30. August
We did a 20 min straight show in Kaiu a small place celebrated its 15th birthday, one of my assistants did his own small introduction solo for the first time there. And how proud I am of my student .)
Even though most of the show we did under the rain, no one left and everyone really enjoyed the show.

23. August
Big wedding in the "Winter garden" in Viimsi. I prepared a new gypsy fire dance called "Roumania" specially for the wedding.

15. August
Shooting the dance at Kanal 2 studio, for the talent show.... soon to be on Estonian tv.
Specially for that I prepared a short theatrical fire dance called "The War".

Luleå Kalas!!! ---31.07.08. - 02.08.08.---

Three day festival job on the biggest summer festival in the North Sweden with lots and lots of participants, singers, dj-s, events and activities for almost 24 hours a day. Side by side with other artists like Alcazar, Andrea Johansson, E-type, Lars Winnerbäck, Millencolin, Nordman and otehrs.
Our schedule looked like that:
from 10.00 to 13.00 - open circus school for kids in the park
from 14.00 to 18.00 - improvisation spontaneous shows on the streets
and in the evening about 23.00 - fire show

There was lots of interviews and pictures of us, also interview for the Swedish channel 4 news program. Sadly I didn't have enough time there to collect the papers, but I have found some internet posted interviews and articles.

That's roughly about how tired we all were there, and that was just the first day .)

In the beginning of the summer we went to the park and put up some of our stuff, like the slack line, did some pois and acrobatics. The head of culture of Umea Fredrik Lindgren joined in with us for a while. Since then Ember had arranged little activities in the park every sunday all summer.
